DOWNLOADING YOUTUBE VIDEOS WITH OPERA MINI MADE SIMPLE

Most people are still not aware that it is possible to download youtube videos with their mobile phones. Youtube restricts visitors or users from downloading their videos. You are only allowed to watch the video online(you are charged heavily by your network operator when watching online) but it's better you download the video so that you can always watch it offline over and over again. There are however, ways of overcoming this restriction, which I'm about to reveal to you all. I will teach you one method but other methods will be revealed in
latter tutorials. Ok, let's begin!

STEP-1

Download and install Opera mini to your phone. Visit: www.youtube.com and search for the video you want to download. Now click on the video you want and wait for the next page to load. Figure1 below illustrates this step. Figure1

STEP-2

After the page has been loaded, you will be given options "Watch Video" and "Share Video". Don't click on any of them. Just press menu and select "Enter Address". Now edit the address on the address bar. The address usually begins with http://m.youtube.com/watch? . The only thing you need to do is to delete the letter "m" and the dot or fullstop after it. Now replace them with the letters "ss", so that the address now looks like this http://ssyoutube.com /watch? . Now press Ok. Figure2 and Figure3 below illustrates this step. Figure2 Figure3

STEP-3

After completing step2 successfully, you will be redirected to another site called savefrom.net . Now scroll through the page untill you see a download button colored in yellow. Don't click on it. Just look below the download button and you will see different video formats like flv, mp4. Click on "More" and you will be given more video formats like 3gp. Just click on the video format you like. Because you are using a mobile phone, i will advice you to choose 3gp144p or 3gp240p. 3gp video formats are always highly compressed to give the minimum size but gives bad video quality. If you want high video quality, you can choose flv or mp4 but the size of the video will be very large. NOTE: Unless you are having a flash player, don't choose flv because your phone will not be able to play it. Figure4 and Figure5 below, gives more details! Figure4 Figure5

STEP-4

After you have clicked on the video format you want to downlod, you will be shown Opera mini's download page with two options, "Save" and "Open". Select "Save" if you want to download with Opera mini. But if you want to download with your phone's native(wap) browser, then select "Open" and off, you're gone!
